Emirates Palace, in Abu Dhabi (of the United Arab Emirates) is a huge 7 star luxury hotel which opened in 2005. The exterior of the hotel is a sight to be seen – it has 114 domes that are over 70 meters high, 200 fountains and 1.3 kilometers of private coastline for its guests.
I visited a friend in Abu Dhabi a couple of years ago and even though the palace was way out of our price range we still went and checked it out, and ended up spending an entire day exploring the different levels of restaurants, shops and the enormous lobby which at the time housed one of the biggest and expensive looking Christmas trees I’ve ever seen! If you make it out to the UAE make sure you scope it out – even if it is only to drool at how the rich people live!
