Photo Of The Week – Tallinn Rooftops

Tallinn

I visited Tallin in January and having not really heard a lot about it, I was blown away by how stunning it was. Pastel buildings, castle rooftops covered in snow and as dusk came around there was the most beautiful golden hue in the air.

I took this picture from a lookout point in the old town after wandering around the castle grounds and capturing some great photos in this light while it lasted. While it might be ridiculously cold in Tallinn in winter, I would definitely recommend visiting then just to see the gorgeous snow-covered old town – just make sure you rug up!

  1. It is really interesting to find your post, especially since I was there in May and took a very similar picture! We got really lucky and it was in the mid/high 20’s so no snow for us.

I found it very surprising that most people there spoke perfect English. We stayed with a friend and she said that as a country with about 1 million people, they have to speak other languages in order to survive.
